Tony Lee Lewis

Terre Haute, Ind. - Tony Lee Lewis, 62, of Terre Haute and formerly of Newport, Indiana, passed away at 3:29 p.m. EST Friday, December 5, 2014 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born December 28, 1951 in Clinton, Indiana, the son of the late William "Bill" L. and Rhita Jane Waddy Lewis. Survivors include his three children, Chad Lewis of Greenwood, Indiana; twin daughters, Allison Lewis of Newport, Indiana and Adrienne Lewis of O'Fallon, Illinois; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister, Geri(Joe)Mock of Dana, Indiana and one brother, Nick Lewis of Newport, Indiana. Tony was preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica Rae Hensley. Tony was a former security guard in Xenia, Ohio. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on October 27, 1971 and was honorably discharged on May 9, 1974. Tony was a 1969 graduate of North Vermillion High School. He enjoyed reading, fishing, hunting and NASCAR, always pulling for his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Graveside services and burial: 1 p.m. EST Monday, December 8, 2014 at Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana with Rev. Jon Overbey officiating. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.
