Tommy "Tom" Dale Collins, 75, of Georgetown, our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully Tuesday June 16, 2015 at his home. The son of the late Andrew Collins and Margaret Jones was born October 14, 1939 in Scotland, IL. Tom was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Georgetown, which he attended faithfully. Tom was an honorably discharged veteran from the United States Army. For many years, he enjoyed playing Santa Clause for the town parades and he was involved with the Boy Scouts of America for many years as a Webelos Leader and Cub Master. Tom loved to spend time with his family and had a joke for everyone he met. He is well known for calling someone just to tell them his latest joke. He will be sadly missed and remembered forever in the hearts of everyone he met. Left on this earth to cherish his memories are: his brothers and sisters, Dave and Dan Collins both of Indian Mound, Tennessee; Wanda (Mike) Jarvis of Cisco, IL, Jerry Collins of Georgetown, IL, Marvin (Thelma) Sword of Independence MO, Gene Richard (Mary Ann) of Independence MO, Gary Stoltz of Newman, IL, Brenda Teter of Charleston IL, & Janet (Dale) Lasiewicki of Caro, MI; his two children, Roy Andrew Collins of Georgetown and Kimmila Dale (Christopher) Browning of Saginaw, MI; grandchildren, Andrew (Marta) Collins of Paris, IL, Kendra True of Westville, Taylor True of Westville, Alicia (Chris) Browning-Gullette of Mt. Morris, MI, Joseph Mazur of Saginaw, MI, Garrett Collins of Georgetown, IL, Hannah Collins of Westville, and Aaron Browning of Saginaw, MI; great-Grandchildren; Christopher Fabian Collins, Elexis Mary-Oleta Collins, Gabrielle Fay Collins, Sora Diffenderfer, Joshua Richards, and Emersyn Diffenderfer; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who all meant a great deal to him. Tom was preceded in death by his two brothers Marion Sword and Gene Stoltz and his ever-loving wife, Gloria Fay Collins. A Celebration of Tommy's life will be held at 11am, Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Community of Christ Church, 201 E Oak St, Georgetown. Elder Laura Ovall will officiate assisted by Ernie Rumple. Visitation will be 4pm-7pm, Friday, June 21, 2015, and 10am-11am, Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Community of Christ Church. He will be laid to rest in Forest Park Cemetery in Georgetown Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to the Community of Christ Church of Georgetown. Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, assisted the family with the arrangements.
