Tommy Lee Phillips, 80 of Danville, died on May 6, 2015 in his home of natural causes. Tommy was born on October 22, 1934 in Danville, IL to Ray Phillips and Mazie Brothers Phillips. They preceded him in death. Tommy graduated from Oakwood High School in 1952. He is survived by a daughter Debbie (Terry) Toler of Bismarck, IL and a son Steve Phillips of Kokomo, IN and a step-daughter Kim (John) Serd of Danville, IL. Grandchildren: Eric Hutson of Danville, Amy (Jeremy) Pych of Blue Spring MO, Aaron (Jamie Judde) Phillips of Holden MO, Mark (Amy Toler) of Danville and Marci Johnson of Catlin IL. Also 8 great-grandchildren. Tommy worked at Berkley-Davis and also Heatcraft until retirement. Tommy enjoyed many activities during his life, spending time with his children, scuba diving, water skiing, roller skating and the 4-wheel drive Muddobber Jeep Club. Later in life he became interested in antique cars, owning a 1931 Hupp Mobile and also his pride Gatsby that he built along with help from his friend Dick Evans of Brazil, IN. He loved going to car shows and visiting with his friends. His favorite time was spent at the syrup camp with his buddies making Maple syrup. He also enjoyed a special group of friends at the Beef House along with his favorite waitress Mary. He was a great man, dad, friend and will be missed by all that knew him. Donations can be made in Tommy's name to the Elks Blood Bank. A Celebration of Tommy's Life will take place at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, IL at 10 AM Monday, May 11 2015. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery following service. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday May 10, 2015 from 2:00pm until 5:00 pm. Located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL.
