Thomas Tom Lee Loewenstein, 47, of Danville, passed away at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at his home. Tom was born on July 29, 1962 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of Virgil and Shirley (Noe) Loewenstein. He is survived by his life partner- Patty Wilson of Danville; two sons- Thomas Loewenstein Jr. and Michael Lee Loewenstein both of Danville; two daughters- Jennifer (Rob) Wilson and Christina (Jesus) Vasquez both of Danville; five grandchildren- Carly Wilson, Connor Wilson, Cirie Wilson, Rosa Vasquez and Jace Vasquez; three brothers- John (Vanessa) Loewenstein, Jan Hines both of Danville and Ronnie Eacher of Alaska; three sisters- Lynette (John) Morris, Val Loewenstein both of Danville and Judy Beach of Nebraska; special friend- Karl Kirk of Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother- Bill Loewenstein and one sister Robin Kirkpatrick. Tom graduated from Danville High School. After high school, he joined the United States Marines. He worked as a pressman at the Commercial News in Danville. He enjoyed cooking for and spending time with his family and friends. He loved people and could spend hours talking with them. A Celebration of the Life of Thomas Tom Lee Loewenstein will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, with Drew Mentzer officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Park at a later date.
