Tom Emerick

Tom Emerick, 76, of Georgetown, IL (formerly of Paris, IL) passed away December 16, 2024, at his home with his wife. Tom was born February 8, 1948, in Paris, IL to the late Cecil and Irene (Balding) Emerick.

He was next to the youngest of 16 children. Tom met the love of his life in July 1969, when he came home from Germany after 2 years serving his Country in the United States Army.

After being apart for 41 years, Tom reunited with his love Diana (Luther) Emerick. They have been attached ever since their marriage on June 5, 2020. She survives

Other survivors include a blended family of four children. Sean (Gabriella) Emerick of Bourbonnais, IL, Crystal (Trevor) Stillwell of Browning, MS, Felicia Potter of Paris, IL, and Eric Snoke of Delano, MN. Surviving Brothers include, Gale Emerick of Roseville, MI. Leanord Emerick of Three Oaks, MI, Cecil (Stella) Emerick of Olivet, IL and his twin brother Terry (Sheila) Emerick of Cottonwood, AL. Surviving Sisters Lois Shonk of Marshall, IL. Verna Sly of Ridge farm, IL and Betty (Don) Pearson Sr. of Georgetown, IL Tom is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. His sister-in-law Belva Drake of Georgetown, IL and Sister and brother-in-law Janice (Ron) Throckmartin of Paris, IL. Also surviving is Tom’s dear ole Army buddy Ken (Bobbie) Atfzenhoefer of Fairmont, MN.

Tom is preceded in death by 5 sisters and 3 brothers. His sister-in-law Dorothy and brother-in-law Russell Bill Davis, sister-in-law Alice and brother-in-law Rick Dailey, sister-in-law Betty and brother-in-law Arlie Neaville, sister-in-law Sheryl Luther and brother-in-law Steve Drake. 

A visitation will be held at Sunset’s Houghton Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown, Illinois, 200 E West Street from 10am-12pm on Friday December 20, 2024. Following visitation will be a Graveside service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Ridge farm, Illinois, where Tom will be laid to rest, after miliary rights done by Paris, American Legion Post 211.
