Todd Lee Powell

Covington - Todd Lee Powell, 53, of Covington, IN passed February 15, 2017 at 4:30 a.m. surrounded by loving family. Todd was born on September 20, 1963 in Danville, IL, to the late Jack and Roberta (Townsend) Powell. He was formerly married to Kelly who were High School sweethearts and had one son together, Kevin Powell. Kevin and Todd could almost always be found together. They were life long best friends with an unbreakable bond. For years, he worked in maintenance and as a dump truck driver for local businesses. Todd could always be found with a smile on his face and always trying to make light of any given situation. He was ornery with a very caring soul. He had a love for Harley Davidson and riding ATV'S. In his free time, you could find him kicking back with family and friends fishing at his life long family pond. Todd was known for his love and dedication to his family. Especially his son and granddaughter, Mariah. Todd's very contagious smile and laughter will always be remembered and never forgotten. Todd is survived by his son Kevin and granddaughter Mariah; brother, Cliff (Beth); neices Kayla (Darry) and children, Kaytlyn, Tiauna; Nephew Dustin (Amanda) and children and many cousins and friends. He is preceeded in death by his parents Jack and Roberta (Townsend) Powell, brothers Kevin and Steve, and sister, Jacqueline. "Those we love don't go away, They walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near; Still loved, still missed and very dear." A service to celebrate the life of Todd Powell will be held at 2 PM on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Sunset's Covington Chapel at 420 3rd St. in Covington. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-5 PM on Sunday, February 19, also at Sunset in Covington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Todd's family.
