Tina Kay Nelson

Tina Kay Nelson (Minnick), 55, of Champaign IL. passed away on April 23, 2019 in Urbana with her daughter Stephanie Ahrens Palumbo and her father Ernest D. Minnick by her side they precede her in death. Tina was born to Ernest and Mary Minnick on January 26, 1964 in Urbana IL. She graduated from Central High School in Champaign in 1982 and later received her CNA license from Danville Community College.

She is survived by her mother Mary Lou Minnick; siblings, Dan, Connie, Terry and Steve; children, Kaylah Cook (Cody Hardin), Dylan Nelson (Mersedes Segura) and Payton Nelson; grandchildren, Korah Palumbo, ZsophieAna Cook, Avery Hardin and Mari Lynn Nelson.

Tina loved riding motorcycles, listening to music and spending time with her friends and family. She had a heart of gold and would accept anyone into her family. She was known for being the life of the party and will always be remembered by her children for being the "toughest" woman they will ever know. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Tinas family. Per Tinas request no carnations or lilies.

Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Champaign, Illinois 710 N. Neil St. Champaign Illinois 61820 on Wednesday, May 1st from 2-4pm with a service to follow at 4pm.
