Timothy “Tim” J. Gummere, 66, of Danville passed away at 1:07 AM on Friday, July 25, 2025 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville. He was born May 14, 1959 in Danville to Thomas V. and Karen (Shade) Gummere.
He is survived by two children, Tiffany J. (Lance) Becker of Danville and Joseph Ryan Gummere of Danville; his mother, Karen Gummere; four grandchildren, London, Sohly, Atlas, and Daxton Becker; two siblings, Ernest W. “Bub” (Crystal) Gummere and Grace E. (Hank) Judd; his longtime special friend, Tammy Anderson, Tammy's daughters, Tabitha Thatcher and Cassidy Anderson, and their grandchildren, Lanie, Zander, Colton and Ella, his best friends, Richie Robinson, Darin Odle, Mike Truscelli; and his special dog, Milly.
Tim dearly missed his father, Thomas “Tom” Gummere after his passing and is now with him again. He was also preceded in death by his dog best friend, Jack.
Tim was a graduate of Danville High School and had also attended Parkland where he earned a number of certifications for his business. He was the owner/operator of Tim’s Paintless Dent Repair where he utilized the skills taught to him by his dad from childhood. Tim’s hobby was working, and it was something he rarely stopped doing. He was the best trained autobody expert in the Danville area and prided himself on the work that he was able to accomplish for his clients.
Tim will be remembered as a man that was a friend to everyone and one that never knew a stranger. Whether you had known him for a short time or a lifetime, he loved to joke around and tease those that were special in his life. He could often be found eating at Jocko’s restaurant where he joked and laughed with the staff who he loved dearly. Known by many at Jocko’s as the Ambassador, or some referred to him as the Mayor, but all knew him as their friend. Tim also loved dogs and had a habit of spoiling them, whether it happened to be his or not. Most importantly, Tim loved his family and will be dearly missed.
A service to celebrate the life of Tim Gummere will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville. A visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Friday, August 1, also at Sunset in Danville.
Memorials in his name may be made to the Danville Police Association Charitable Organization.
