Danville, Ill. - Thomas "Tom" W. McLain, 62, of Danville and formerly of Cayuga, Indiana passed away at 6:06 p.m. CDT Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, Illinois.
He was born March 5, 1955 in Clinton, Indiana the son of the late William Henry and Margie Mae (Holycross) McLain.
Survivors include two daughters, Jaime McLain of Danville, Illinois and Brandie Niccum of Kingman, Indiana; five grandchildren, Kelsey; Kaleb; Keirra; Kamya and Brionna; two great grandchildren, Kamryn and Braxton; two sisters, Shirley A. Noble of Georgetown, Illinois and Patsy M. (Tim) Means of Catlin, Illinois; two brothers, William A. (Mary A.) McLain and James L. McLain both of Cayuga, Indiana, and special friend, John Yoho of Clinton, Indiana.
Tom was a member of the Terre Haute Carpenter Local Union 133. He formerly worked at Olin/Flexel in Covington, Indiana. Tom was a 1974 graduate of North Vermillion High School. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushrooming, gardening, playing Texas Hold'em and watching his favorite N.F.L. team, Oakland Raiders. Tom especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Cremation was accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. EDT at the Cayuga American Legion, 922 West Ferry Street, Cayuga, Indiana 47928.
