Thomas 'Tom' B. Chapman

Thomas "Tom" B. Chapman, 81, of Covington, Indiana, passed away at 5:23am, Monday, October 22, 2018, at Franciscan Health Hospital, Lafayette, IN. He was born on May 4, 1937, in Bloomingdale, IN, the son of Harry and Mary {Nielsen} Chapman. He was united in marriage to Janet Harshbarger on January 17, 1958, in Bloomingdale. She will miss him dearly. He will also be missed by: his sons, Ron (Anna) Chapman & James (Karen) Chapman, both of Covington; his daughter, Ronda Bowling of Covington; his brother, Bob Chapman of Bealeton, Virginia; his sister, Lois (John) Foley of West Chester, Pennsylvania; his nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his son, Jeff; and his brothers, Ronald & Charles. Tom was first employed at Olin of Covington and later worked for TeePak in Danville where he retired from in 1999 with 28 years of service. He was a member of the West Liberty Church of Christ. He enjoyed playing basketball, going deer hunting, and mushroom hunting. He was also known as huge Cubs fan. Tom cherished the time he spent with his family and will be missed by all whose lives he touched. A celebration of Tom's life will be held at 2:00pm (EST), Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Sunset's Covington Chapel, 420 3rd Street, Covington, IN, with Kurt Flora officiating. Visitation will be held 12:00pm to 2:00pm (EST) on Thursday prior to his service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington.
