Thomas Thompson

Danville – Thomas Thompson, 78, of Danville passed away at 11:23 PM on February 27, 2025 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL.

Thomas was born on July 13, 1946 the son of Herman and Daisy (Barnes) Thompson in Danville, IL. He married Margaret Kew on February 20, 1978 in Las Vegas, NV and she preceded him in death on May 7, 2021.

Survivors include his daughter, Susan Kew of Alvin, IL, five grandchildren, Jesse Craig of Melvin, IL, Ashley Terrell of Oakwood, IL, Dale (Kara) Terrell of Covington, IN, Michael Thompson and Margaret Thompson both of Indianapolis, IN, four great grandchildren, Hunter Craig, Easton Terrell, Carlie Craig and Spencer Lewis.

Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Margaret Thompson, his son, Richard Thompson and one sister, Marsha White.

Thomas was a member of Union Corner United Methodist Church and was a retired truck driver for Walmart. He was a member of the 1 Million Mile Club with Walmart for his accident free driving record. Thomas enjoyed spending free time fishing, playing cards, hanging out with his family and friends and cheering for the Chicago Cubs.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61832. Patti Wise will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
