Thomas 'Steve' Haase

Danville, IL. Thomas "Steve" Haase, 74, of Danville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 29, 2024, in Danville, Illinois.

He was born December 26, 1949, son of the late Thomas and Alice (Diehl) Haase.

Steve married Kathy Sampson on February 5, 1972, in Burnett, IN., and she survives.

Also surviving is one daughter: Kristy Haase of Scottsdale, AZ; three sisters: Cathy Hunt, Kim Easton, and Tammy Baker; four brothers: Billy Haase, Jerry Haase, Mike Haase, and Johnny Haase; niece: Misty Boyle; nephews: Ernie Scott, Matthew Brown, and Jacob Corenflos; along with several more nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and his beloved dog: Zoey

Along with his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his stepdad: Jerry Corenflos, and brother: J.T. Corenflos.

After high school, Steve went on to serve his country faithfully and honorably in the United States Navy during Vietnam. After his time in the service, Steve went on to work for IBM as a customer engineer for 41 years before his retirement. He was a proud hot air balloon pilot and a member of the Balloon Association of Greater Illinois. Steve was also a member of the Bismarck and Danville Lions Club. He loved spending time with his friends and family and always looked forward to his trips to Arizona to visit his daughter.

A Memorial Visitation for Steve will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 1pm-2pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion Street Danville, IL 61834.

Memorials in Steves name may be made to the Bismarck Lions Club.
