Thomas G. Snyder, 69, of Danville, IL, passed away at 7:35 a.m., on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at Illiana Department of Veteran Affairs Health Care Center in Danville. Thomas was born on November 28, 1939, in Covington, IN, the son of Jack G. and Mary Alice Snyder. Survivors include one son, David L. Snyder of Garfield, AK; two brothers, Bobby Snyder of Kokomo, IN and Fred Howard of Danville, IL; one sister, Mary Ann (Adolph) Velasquez of Sacramento, CA; two aunts, Lucille Snyder of Danville and June First of Tucson, AZ; one niece, Susan Trevvett of Florida; two nephews, Roy Peck of Kokomo, IN and Thomas Peck of Nashville, TN and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mary Alice Snyder. Thomas served in the United States Army from 1961-1964 as a paratrooper. He worked at Marsters Sign Company where he designed and made neon signs. Thomas loved to build black powder rifles. He also loved horses and learning about Native American History. Thomas loved to read his bible. The family would like to thank Dr. Craig Elliott and the staff at Building 101-4 at the hospital for the fine care shown to their father and brother. A graveside service will be held at Danville National Cemetery on Monday, December 22, 2008, at 1 p.m. with Chaplain Paul Witt officiating.
