Thomas Earl Pribble, 82, of Georgetown, passed away at 2:45 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the VA Illiana Health Care Systems. Tom was born April 19, 1930 in Danville, Illinois, the son of Raymond E. and Helen B. Gillen Pribble. He married Betty Ann Cook on November 17, 1950. She preceded him in death on February 11, 1981. He then married Mildred Craft Conrad on August 20, 1983 in Georgetown. She survives. Other survivors include 1 daughter, Jeanie (Brett) Hayes of Danville; 4 step-children, Cindy (Jerry) Tines of Cayuga, Connie (Donnie) Troxell of Georgetown, Kelly (Tony) Farrar of Georgetown, and Billie (Connie) Conrad of Columbus, TN; one brother, Raymond Pribble Jr. of Georgetown and 36 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gilbert Pribble. Thomas served in the US Navy from 1947 to 1950, and worked for General Electric for over 36 years. He was recognized multiple times for his service and volunteer work for the city of Georgetown. Tom was a member of the American Legion for over 62 years, and most recently was a member of the Cayuga American Legion Post #263. He was a master mason and active member of the Masonic Lodge of Georgetown, where took a lot of pride in being a rider in the 25 man super cycle. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, bingo, gardening, and most of all, spending time with his family and friends. A celebration of the life of Thomas Pribble will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, with military honors performed by the Cayuga American Legion Post # 263. Officiating services will be Rev. James Blue. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Monday at the funeral home, with masonic services conducted at 7:00 by the Russell Lodge #154 of Georgetown. As per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials contributions may be made in Tom's name to the American legion Post #263 of Cayuga.
