Covington, Ind. -- Thomas O. Bell, 47, of Covington, Indiana, passed away at 7:30 a.m. EDT Sunday, July 20, 2008 at his residence in Covington. He was born September 6, 1960 in Danville, Illinois, the son of Merrill H. and Janice L. Hatton Bell. Survivors include: his mother, Janice L. Bell of Covington, Indiana; brother, Timothy M.(Jean)Bell of Cayuga, Indiana; niece, Julie(Chris)Hochschild of Chicago, Illinois; nephew, Christopher T.(Shelli Messer)Bell of St. Louis, Missouri and longtime friends, Kevin(Debbie)Martin and family of Covington, Indiana. Tom was a 1978 graduate of Covington High School. He attended Purdue University and later attended Indiana State University receiving a Bachelors Degree in Management. He was a Supervisor at Wabash National in Lafayette, Indiana. Tom enjoyed bowling, fishing on the Wabash River, auto racing, especially the Indianapolis 500 and the Brickyard 400 and watching the Chicago Cubs. Tom enjoyed spending time with his two dogs and being with family and friends. Funeral services: 2 p.m. EDT Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Grover Williams; Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington, Indiana; Visitation: Noon to 2 p.m. EDT Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the funeral home.
