Thomas Franklin Latham, Jr.

Perrysville, IN - Thomas Franklin Latham, Jr., 74, of Perrysville, IN, passed away at 5:47 AM CST on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the VA Illiana Health Care. Tom was born on December 29, 1942 in St. Louis, MO to Thomas Franklin Latham, Sr. and Helen T. (Bowlin) Latham. Tom attended school and graduated from Washington, IN High School in May of 1961 where he met his first wife, Pat Fields. Tom and Pat had 5 children, Kimberly Stone, Kenny Latham, Chet Latham, and Rodney Latham, who all survive. Tom served his country in the United States Navy until his Honorable Discharge on March 27, 1962. He then pursued a career as an over the road truck driver where he received multiple awards, many for safety while earning his first 1 Million Mile recognition award in 1987. It was during this time in Tom's life that he met Barbara Russell-Mack who he later married in 2008. She also has 4 children, Robert Mack, Gary Mack, Randy Mack, and Dawne Marie Gress. They have 34 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one infant son, Tom's mother and father and a sister, Sandy, as well as Eric, our dog which he loved and enjoyed the time spent with him so very much. A Celebration of Life for Tom Franklin Latham, Jr. will be held from 12 Noon EST to 2 PM on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Sunset's Covington Chapel at 420 3rd St. Service will begin at 2 PM EST, also at Sunset's Covington Chapel. After services, interment will follow and will proceed to Danville National Cemetery (V.A.) In lieu of flowers, memorials in Tom's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
