Rantoul- Thomas F. Peach 62, of Rantoul, passed away peacefully at his home at 9:50 p.m. on Thursday (Dec. 6, 2012). As per his family's wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service celebrating Tom's life will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday Dec. 11th at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center Champaign-Urbana Chapel, 710 N. Neil St. in Champaign. Burial of his remains will be in Byrdstown, TN at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675. He was the son of Thomas D. and Betty Jo Whonhart Peach. He married Margaret Clark on June 19, 1993 in Vermilion County, IL. She survives. Also Surviving 2 sons, Alan Peach of Danville and Andy (Missy) Peach of Rantoul. A daughter Angie Peach of Danville and 7 grandchildren. 3 stepchildren: Ann (David) Edington of Phoenix, AZ, Derek Hinchman of Georgetown, IL and Dustin Hinchman in West Virginia. A brother, Bill (Carolyn) Peach of Ashland, MA and 2 sisters Georgia Peach of Skinny Atlas, NY and Mary Beth Simon in MA. He was preceded in death by his father. Tom was a United States Veteran where he proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He also later joined the National Guard. He was a longtime employee of Quaker Oats in Danville for 33 years where he purchased and ran the packaging lines. He belonged to the Community United Church of Christ in Champaign and he was a member of the Rantoul American Legion Post 287. Tom was a pilot who shared that joy with others as he volunteered for the Aviation Museum in Rantoul. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. He enjoyed camping, NASCAR Races, and basically all sports. He was a football fanatic who delighted in cheering on the Chicago Bears.
