Thomas E. Mills

Thomas E. Mills, 80 of Rossville, IL, passed away at 2:56am on Tuesday, August 8, 2011 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born on June 24, 1931, in Champaign, the son of Frank and Lina (Wilske) Mills. Both are deceased. On July 13, 1952, Tom married Virginia Maxine Zorns. She survives along with their three sons; Tim (Julie) Mills of Knoxville, Tenn; Mark (Donna) Mills of Kimberling City, MO, Joe (Patty) Mills of Clarksville, Tenn. His seven grandchildren; Lindsay (Adam) Crownover, Katherine Mills, Jennifer (Chris) Burton, Erin (Chad) Dickison, Anthony Mills, Kyle Mills, Alec Mills, and his three great-grandchildren also survive him. In addition to his parents, his sister, Suzanne preceded Tom in death. Tom owned and operated Mills Publication in Hoopeston, IL. He was president and editor of Illinois Wildlife Federation. Board of Director at the Community Bank in Hoopeston, and Village Trustee of Rossville, and served on the Rossville Park Board. A Memorial Visitation to Celebration the Life of Thomas Mills has been scheduled for 5-7pm on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville. Per Tom's wishes, cremation has been chosen and will be held at Sunset's on-site crematory. No services or burial have been scheduled. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Tom's name to the Chrisman Park and Recreation committee located in Rossville, IL.
