Thomas Eugene Brown, 86, passed away peacefully at his home in Dana, Indiana, on August 26, 2026, with his family by his side. He was born on March 4, 1940, in Tangier, Indiana, to Morris and Mary Brown and graduated from Tangier High School in 1958.
Thomas married the love of his life, Patty Lou Brown, on March 16, 1962. They shared 63 wonderful years together, raising their family and making countless memories.
He worked as a barber in Dana for 10 years before spending nearly 23 years at Eli Lilly’s. Thomas and Patty also operated Brown’s Kettle Corn for 22 years, turning it into a beloved local staple that brought them many cherished friendships.
A 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, Thomas also attended Dana Community Bible Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working with his hands. He could build almost anything, fix nearly everything, and was always the person his family could depend on.
Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patty Lou Brown; his parents, Morris and Mary Brown; and his brother, Ralph Brown.
He is survived by his children, Donnie Brown and Carol Brown Wittenmyer; grandchildren, Kaylee Brown and Lindsey (Joey) Hammer; great-grandchildren, Emma Joe Brown and Grayson Hammer; several nieces and nephews; and his special friends and neighbors, the Myers family.
Thomas leaves behind a lifetime of lessons, stories, and memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST at Dana Community Bible Church, 200 N. Maple Street, Dana, Indiana. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Bono Cemetery in Dana, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made in Thomas’s honor to Dana Community Bible Church.
