Thomas Archie' Dickison, 88, of Danville, passed away at 4:30pm on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Hawthorne Inn in Danville. He was born on April 21, 1923 in Brazil, IN, the son of John and Nellie (Tackett) Dickison. Both are deceased. He married Maxine Hankins on January 31, 1947 in Danville. Survivors include his wife Maxine of 64 years; 3 sons: Mark (Teresa) Dickison of St. Joseph, IL; Bruce (Jan) Dickison of Bowling Green, KY; Hugh (Deborah) Dickison of Houston, Texas, and one daughter; Janice Cox (Larry Jordan) of Indianola. His 7 grandchildren; Joni (Tim) Carney of Sellersburg, IN; Toni (Jim) Bryant of Danville; Jennifer Dickison of Louisville, KY; Neil Dickison of Bowling Green, KY, Ryan Dickison of Plano, Texas, Josh Waters of Twinsburg, Ohio, Matt (Kelly) Waters of Fishers, IN, four great-grandchildren; Dana Fannington, Erica Ownbey; Trey Bryant, and Lincoln Waters, and one sister; Mary Queen of Spartanburg, S.C. In addition to his parents; one brother; Farrell Dickison, and one Sister; Vivian Bales preceded Archie in death. He was a graduate of Alvin High School, joining the United State Army, and serving his country from January 1943-November 1948. After being honorably discharged, Archie was employed with General Motors Tilton Foundry until his retirement. He attended Farmers Chapel, and was a member of the Danville American Legion, and the Danville Mason's. Archie will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A graveside service only for Thomas Archie' Dickison will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at 1:00pm, at the Danville National Cemetery with full military honors being conducted by the American Legion Post #210. Following the graveside, his ashes will be inurned at Danville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Archie's name to the donor's favorite Charity.
