Theodore 'Ted' Swanson

Theodore "Ted" Swanson, 80, of Danville passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 peacefully at Hawthorne Inn with his wife Pat by his side. He was born August 30, 1941 in Rossville to Kathleen and Arvid Swanson. They preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death is his brother Art Swanson.

He married Patricia Misner on November 9, of 1963 in Rossville. She survives. Also surviving is their only daughter Leslie (Chris) Swanson Gallardo who reside on a Floresville, Texas ranch and her children Hope & Katie and Ted's brother Dick (Diane) Swanson.

Ted owned Voorhees Lumber for many years. He ended his career working at Big R for 20 years. He enjoyed teaching his granddaughters the appreciation for filling bird feeders, working hard and the simple things in life. Ted also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing the hot slots.

A visitation will be held for Ted on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Sunset Funeral Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am on Tuesday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Rossville Cemetery following the service.
