Theodore F. Ted Burmeister, 93, of Danville passed away at 1:25 p.m. on Tuesday March 27, 2007 at the Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. Ted was born July 1, 1913 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Frank G. and Emma J. Christlieb Burmeister. Ted was joined in marriage to Edna Glendora Glennie Davis on July 16, 1938 in Danville. She survives him. Also surviving is his son Thomas G. (Ainsley Clement) Burmeister of Florida, grandchildren Theodore H. (Elizabeth Park) Burmeister of Virginia and Michael T. (Heather Muse) Burmeister of Pennsylvania, and great-grandson Harrison P. Burmeister of Virginia. He was preceded by his parents, an infant daughter, a brother Walter H. Burmeister, and a sister Louise Swaim. Ted was a graduate of Danville High School and a member of Second Church of Christ where he served as deacon, secretary of official board, and taught junior boys Sunday school. He was a former institutional representative for the Boy Scouts, helped organize the Collett School Pack 12 Cub Scouts, and also worked with the P.T.A. and Little League. Ted enjoyed sports, especially the Cubs, Bulls and Bears, hunting, fishing, softball, and bowling. He took great joy in working in the yard and grew and canned his own vegetables. Ted was a former Machine Operator at Nusebeck Shoe Company for 15 years and ultimately retired after 31 years with the Hyster Company where he was in sales. A celebration of Teds life will be held on Saturday March 31, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Officiating Rev. Drew Mentzer.
