Thelma Sarah Pruitt, 95, of Tilton, passed away at 8:15pm, Sunday, October 5, 2014, at Gardenview Manor Nursing Home, Tilton. She was born on July 31, 1919, in Georgetown the daughter of Harrison & Lulu {Gorman} Richards, both deceased. She was first married to Charles Usalis until his passing in 1988. She later was wed to William Pruitt until his passing. She will be missed by: her daughters, Sandy Edmiston of Perrysville, IN, & Marilyn (Walter) Jordan of Kingman, IN; her sister, Marie McCain of Portland Arch, IN; her 11 grandchildren; her 25 great grandchildren; and 19 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her daughter, Sharon Kay Usalis; her great grandson, Joshua Teeguarden; her granddaughter, Sandra Edmiston; her son-law, William Edmiston; her brothers, James Richards, Willie Richards, George Richards, & Rex Richards; her sister, Emma Elliott, and four infant sisters . Thelma worked as a CNA at Lakeview Hospital in Danville. She loved working with the infants and caring for them. Later, she worked as a CNA for area nursing homes. In her spare time, Thelma enjoyed working crossword puzzles, watching NASCAR and her favorite driver, Jeff Gordon, and also gardening and growing flowers. Thelma also enjoyed going to rummage sales & flea markets. A celebration of Thelmas life will be held at 12:30pm, Friday, October 10, 2014, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Randy Slavin officiating. Visitation will be held 5pm-8pm, Thursday, October 9, 2014, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Danville National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in Thelmas name to C.A.R.A. in Tilton.
