Thelma Mae McCabe, 85, of Westville, passed away at 6:26pm, Thursday, February 23, 2023, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, Danville, IL. She was born on May 8, 1937, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Agnes {Edwards} Rentfrow. She was married to Carl McCabe on October 26, 1957, until his passing on February 9, 2018. Thelma is survived by: her children, Pamela (Brian) Cork, Rhonda (Tom) Haugen, and John (Ramona) McCabe; her grandchildren, Nolan (Danielle) Cork, Carlee (Dan) Bauer, Curtis Haugen, Corey (Casey) Haugen, Andy (Amy) Haugen, Darin McCabe, Zach McCabe, and Jacey McCabe; her great grandchildren, Hudson Cork, Rockford Cork, Brixton Bauer, Lincoln Bauer, Cody Haugen, Cooper Haugen, Camden Haugen, Madison McCabe, Jace McCabe, and Kierstin McCabe; her sister, Betty Ponton; and nephew, Kent Ponton. She was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Cami McCabe; her siblings, Max, Dale, James, Clarence, Marvin, Lois, and Rochelle. Thelma enjoyed making her house a home for her family. She loved cooking, baking Christmas cookies, taking food to Church, and helped take care of her grandkids. She was a member of the Central Park Church of Christ. She will be missed by many who loved her. As per her wishes, Thelma will be accorded cremation rites and there will be no services. Her family entrusted her arrangements to Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883.
