Thelma L Brooks

Thelma L. Brooks, 94, of Danville, Illinois, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, Illinois.

She was born June 7, 1930, in Danville, daughter of the late Harry and Ella (Kinney) Ford.

Thelma first married William Demmin and together they had three children: Pamela (Rich) Craig of Nashville, TN., Peggy Dabels of Bloomington, IL., and William Demmin of Danville. She later went on to marry Donald Brooks and he preceded her in death in March of 2020.

Surviving along with her children are her grandchildren: Casey Overly, Jacey Cook, Damon (Christi) Dabels, Amy (Ethan) Tadel, Carly Demmin and Heidi Ramon; her great-grandchildren: Brecken, Autumn, and James Overly, Sean and Kate Tadel, Jack Dabels and Theo Demmin, Gabriel Ramon, Jeremy Ramon, Gavin Petersen, Julian Petersen, and Sammy Ramon; and her sisters: Betty Duitsman, Irene Burgoyne and Sondra Metcalf.

Along with her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her sisters: Hazel, Delores, Virigina; and her brother: Harry Jr.

Thelma worked at Interstate Printing Company in Danville, Illinois until her retirement. In her spare time, she loved working in the yard and cleaning the house. Most of all, Thelma loved spending time with her family—especially her sisters and grandkids.

A Celebration of Life for Thelma will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion Street in Danville, Illinois. Burial will follow at Oakhill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9AM-10AM on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the funeral home.
