Thelma Kay (Powell) Lovell, 69, of Georgetown, passed away at 3:59pm, Thursday, May 23, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 6, 1944, to Leroy and Eva M. {Arnold} Chitwood, both deceased. She was first married to George Emory Powell Jr on June 6, 1961, until his passing on February 26, 1970. She later was united in marriage to Rex D. Lovell on August 3, 1978, in Danville, until his passing on November 13, 2012. She will be dearly missed by: her sons, Michael (Eleshia) Powell of Denton, TX, & Thomas (Shirley) Powell of Tilton; her daughters, Patricia Whitaker of Pikeville, TN, Lisa (Keith) Bell of Dayton, TN, & Charlene (Raymond Meeker) Lovell of Dayton, TN; her sisters, Doris Howshar of San Francisco, CA, & Sally Craig of Little Rock, AK; her twenty grandchildren; her seventeen great grandchildren; her son-in-law, Archie Trussel of Dayton, TN; her special sister-in-law, Missy (Clifford) Lovell of Georgetown; and her special friends, Raymond & Helen Core of Newport, IN, and Kay Sanders of Georgetown. She was preceded in death by: her daughter, Melissa; her son-in-law, Jon Whitaker; and her grandson, Thomas Powell Jr. Thelma worked several years at GE in Danville. She loved to play Bingo and tend her flower garden; she especially enjoyed her beautiful roses. She cherished the time she spent with her family and they will miss her, especially her great grandchild, Trisha Kay. A Graveside Service to celebrate the life of Thelma at 2:00pm, Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Collison Cemetery, Collison, IL, with Art Tables officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Thelma's name to Harvest Time Christian Church, Georgetown. Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home assisted Thelma's family with arrangements.
