Thelma Marie Hartman, 92, of Danville, passed away at 12:50 p.m. Monday, September 21, 2009 at North Logan Healthcare, where she had resided since May, 2004. Mrs. Hartman was born June 11, 1917 in Danville, to Frederick and Mamie (Albers) Bath. She married William M. Cook Sr. on November 4, 1935, to this union there were two children born Melva Louise (Cook) Bryant (Deceased) and Wm. M. Cook Jr. On May 15, 1971, she married William J. Hartman Sr., who passed away September 29, 1999. She is survived by her son- Wm. M. (Gay) Cook Jr. of Smithville, Texas; brother- Theo (Ruth) Bath of Danville; sister- Julia Vehlewald of Danville; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mrs. Hartman was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, daughter- Melva Bryant, sister- Mary, brother- Earl, Half Brother- Clarence, great-grandson- Joey Williams, two nephews-Larry Bath and Matt Moll, niece- Dianna Moll, sister-in-law- Marie and Brother-in-Law- Howard. She graduated from Rose Hill Grade School and was a Sales Clerk and waitress. She and her late husband retired from management of Motel 6 in Wisconsin in 1981. She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose for 65 years. Her hobbies were flowers and crafts and dearly loved to spend time with her grandchildren and babysit her great-grandchildren. A special thanks to all employees of N.L.H., especially her granddaughter Hope Bryant and great-grandson- Chris. A Graveside Service for Thelma Marie Hartman will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Oakhill Cemetery, with Pastor June Moll officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Memorials may be made to hospice.
