Thelma Darlene Schroeder

Thelma Darlene Schroeder, 85, of Danville passed this life on Wednesday evening, June 22, 2016 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana surrounded by her family. Thelma was born on July 30, 1930 in Danville to John Forrest and Mary Ellen (Conner) Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Michael) Ferris; son, Danny (Julie Creviston) Schroeder; 4 grandchildren; Douglas (Amanda) Ferris, Amy (Noah) Masley, Scott (Tonia) Schroeder and Kelly (Dave) McElroy, 6 great-grandchildren; John, Lauren, Summer, David, Kylee and Alyssa. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Ellen Smith; 2 sisters; 1 brother, 1 daughter-in-law, Sharon Schroeder and her beloved husband, Harold Schroeder. She was a wonderful housewife and mother to her children. She helped run a general store next to their country home for several years. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, sewing and watching NASCAR races. She was a life-long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville. A celebration of Thelma's life will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 North Vermilion St. Danville IL, 61834 with Pastor Michael Heidle officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-11:00 AM prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials can be made in her name to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville.
