Teyonna Nyomi Leveah was born on June 7, 2018 to her loving parents, Terrence Jr (TJ) Moore and Jaleesa Adams, establishing the fourth generation of women in our beautiful family. Her dark-brown button eyes opened to countless smiles of love, kisses, “can I hold her” and baby-talk from a family-foundation saturated in love, love, love!
She attended Broadmeadow Elementary school, which became a love corner of classmates and caring teachers. She excelled in Eye Tracking or Eye Gaze, which is an assistive technology that helps children with special needs use their eyes to communicate and access learning.
Teyonna loved being a part of the various music games, especially when her classmates would happily sing her name. And during movement games, with her teacher’s assistance, clapping her hands and moving her feet guaranteed a flash of her precious smile.
She was selected as “Student of the Month”, where she led the school parade, which included other children and the school’s mascot - Bobcat.
Teyonna faced many physical adversities that caused those long eye-lashes to sway in slow motion, but after the countless hours/days in the hospital, she always returned home ready to, yet again, present her beautiful contagious smile.
Teyonna’s big sister, Trinity, always seems to want to take care, hold or play with her. TaNayah, her baby sister would wake her up each morning with kisses, smiles and touch. At times, when Teyonna was upset, after TaNayah was spotted, she would quiet down and smile….for a little while. J They established a sisterhood of their very own – Lil t-girls!
Teyonna locked eyes with anyone who talked to her, and would attempt to converse with her soft sweet sounds or laughter, especially when a little tickling was involved. And like most kids she enjoyed watching cartoons.
Although her time with us was very short (January 17, 2025), Teyonna’s memories will continue to live on in our hearts. The essence of our Teyonna’s silence reminds us of God’s word - “Be still and know that I am God”. Even in her silence, her expressions were loudly heard in our hearts, without the distractions of sound.
She is survived by her parents: Terrence Jr. Moore and Jaleesa Adams, two sisters: Trinity and TaNayah Moore. Grandparents: Tanya (Sam) Aiyedun; Albert Johnson, Terrence Sr. and Rita Moore; great grandparents: Lonnie (Lewis) Maxie; aunts: Selena Brodnax, Tyneisha Ford, Alaysha Fondia-Johnson great-aunts: Yolanda (James) Webb, Tina Owens; uncles: Eric and Ajani Moore, Jamaal and Jaylan Adams; Isaac Owens (great-uncle) and a host of cousins, teachers, classmates.
Rest in peace, sweet Princess Teyonna; may you continue to brighten the heavens with your beautiful smile.
