Terry L. Ross, 70, of Danville passed away at 7:44pm on Tuesday February 17, 2009 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. Terry was born December 29, 1938 in Danville son of Dale L. and Lillian G (Cox) Ross. He married Nora L. Webb on July 19, 1977 she survives. Also surviving are two sons: Greg (Cindy) Small of Hunterville, NC and Randall (Sarah) Small of Alcoa, TN. Three stepchildren: Lori (Jim) Pickett of Georgetown, Scott Thomas of Danville, and Milee (Jerry) Walters of Kingman, IN. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Norma Webb, eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and his previous wife Patricia Courson. He was preceded in death by his parents. Terry was the office manager/purchasing agent for Autotron for 17 years. He also worked at Big R as the assistant manager before retiring. Terry had many hobbies and interests that included, collecting model trains and die cast cars, gardening and building doll houses. Terry enjoyed watching all sports, but was especially a huge fan of NASCARs Jeff Gordon and the Chicago Bears. Terry was a past member of Vintage Rods and spent his quiet years enjoying show cars. He was also a member of Danville Citizens Patrol, which is a branch of Danville Auxiliary Police, Treasurer of Rabbit Town II Neighborhood Association, and was a proud member, trustee and usher of Trinity Lutheran Church. A Celebration of Terrys Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday February 22, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 E. Main Street, with Reverend Kent Tibben officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm Saturday evening at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center and one hour prior to the service at the church. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery in Danville. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or Danville Police Department Canine Unit.
