Danville Terry James Osborn passed away at 6:22 AM on July 14, 2022 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL.
Terry was born on February 4, 1934 the son of Clyde and Marie (Day) Osborn in Danville, IL. He married JoAnn Davis (Tapscott) on May 8, 1981 in Danville, IL.
Terry is survived by his wife, JoAnn Osborn of Danville, IL, children, Terri (Greg) Edwards of Covington, IN, Tod (Cristine) Osborn of Danville, IL, Jeffrey Davis of Mount Juliet, TN, Randy (Kelley) Davis of Covington, IN and Todd (Rachel) Davis of Danville, IL, fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Terry is also survived by his siblings, Linda (Cliff) Hegg of Danville, IL, Joann Brooks of Georgetown, IL, Carl Osborn of Danville, IL, Clydie Osborn of Danville, IL, brother-in-law, Don (Terri) Tapscott of Kokomo, IN, and sister-in-law, Shirley Osborn of Kankakee, IL.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Betty Walsh and Jack Osborn, brothers-in-law, Hank Walsh and Marvin Brooks and sister-in-law, Karen Osborn.
After graduating from Danville High School, Terry proudly served six years in the U.S. Navy. Terry was a Police Officer for the City of Danville for over 32 years. After retiring from the police department, he worked for the US Marshal Service as Security at the Federal Courthouse for over 20 years. He was a past member of American Legion Post 210 and Gao Grotto. Terry enjoyed spending his free time with his grandchildren, rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals, was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed many trips to Florida with JoAnn and was an avid woodworker.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 9:00 11:00 AM on Saturday July 30, 2022 at Connexion Church, 2915 Townway Road Danville, Illinois. Private family inurnment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorials may be made in Terrys memory to Connexion Church or Danville Alliance Church.
