In Loving Memory of Terry Moreman
Terry Moreman, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, loyal friend, and hardworking businessman, entered into eternal rest on July 8, 2026, at the age of 82. His kindness, unwavering work ethic, quiet strength, and genuine love for family and friends touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Terry was born on October 22, 1943, in Danville, Illinois, to Melba and James “Big Jim” Moreman, Sr. He attended Daniel Grade School and Danville High School before beginning a career that reflected the determination, integrity, and character for which he would become known.
At just 20 years old, Terry joined Baker Forms in Indianapolis, Indiana. Through his dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence, he rose through the ranks to become the company’s youngest Superintendent in more than 30 years. Later, he returned home to Danville to work alongside his father and brother in the family business, Moreman and Sons Construction. In 1996, Terry founded Moreman Properties, providing rental housing throughout the Danville area for more than two decades. He and his beloved wife, Judy, retired together in 2010, grateful for the life they had built through hard work and perseverance.
In 1981, Terry met the love of his life and soulmate, Judy. Together they built a life filled with laughter, unwavering devotion, and countless cherished memories. They shared 44 wonderful years together, including 28 years of marriage. Anyone who knew them could see the love, respect, and happiness they brought to one another. Their relationship was a beautiful example of friendship, partnership, and unconditional love.
Although Terry worked hard throughout his life, he knew that life’s greatest blessings were found in simple moments. He loved spending time fishing and camping at Fairmount Quarry, cheering on the Chicago Cubs and the University of Illinois Fighting Illini basketball. He treasured weekly euchre games with his buddies and afternoons spent visiting with friends. Whether enjoying a quiet day outdoors or laughing around a card table, Terry cherished every opportunity to spend time with the people he loved.
Family meant everything to Terry. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Judy; his son, Scott (Jennifer) Moreman; his daughter, Jamie (Danny) Crawford; his grandson, Trey Moreman; his granddaughter, Cassie (Gabe) Alvarez; and his treasured great-grandchildren, Joaquin and Maritza Alvarez.
He is also survived by his brothers, James (Pam) Moreman, Jr., Richard Arnold II, and Robert Arnold; his sister, Cheryl Newell; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, loyalty, and generous spirit.
Terry also leaves behind dear friends who became family, including David, Laurie, and Bill Drake—his beloved “cooking family”—along with Tina and Mel Cornell, Sandy Nelson, Sara Snyder, and Linda Reik. His faithful companions, Miss Buddie and Gracie, brought him comfort, companionship, and joy each day and held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melba Arnold and James Moreman, Sr.; his sisters, Drema Grant and Kim Cesinger; his cherished euchre buddies, Mike Wallace, Doc Krable, Bobby Ware, and Jimmy Jameson; and his beloved fur babies, Elizabeth, Daisy, Heidi, and his princess, Izzy.
Those who knew Terry will remember a man whose character was defined not only by the work he accomplished, but by the relationships he built. He was dependable, humble, generous, and happiest when surrounded by family and friends. His steady presence, warm smile, and caring heart made everyone feel welcome. He lived a life built on hard work, loyalty, love, and simple joys, leaving behind memories that will be treasured forever.
Terry’s greatest legacy is not found in the homes he built or the business he created, but in the family he loved, the friendships he cherished, and the countless lives he touched through his kindness and generosity.
Terry’s life reminded all who knew him that a handshake should mean something, family always comes first, and the richest life is measured not by what you own, but by the people who gather around your table through the years. That is the legacy he leaves behind, and one that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
A service to celebrate the life of Terry Moreman will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL, 61834. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pastor Miles Clark will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, July 14, also at Sunset in Danville.
