Terry Mills

Terry Lee Mills, 69, of Georgetown passed away at 5:05pm, on July 8, 2026, at OSF St Francis Hospital, Peoria, IL. He was born on September 10, 1956, to Albert Eugene “Bud” Mills and Phyllis E. (Hughes) Mills Ross. He was married to Shari (Sprouls) Mills on July 19, 2025. She will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Debbie Mills on December 24, 2019; his father, Bud Mills; his mother, Phyllis Ross; his father who raised him, James Norman Ross; and his brother, Brian Mills.

Terry is survived by: his sons, Jim (Laura) Morgan, Josh (Lesley) Mills, and Justin (Cathi) Mills; his grandchildren, Zachary (Amie) Morgan, Brian Morgan, Christopher (Abby) Morgan, Tyler Morgan, Aidan Morgan, Kohlton Mills, Braylen Mills, Brysen Mills, Alexandria (Taylor) Klem, and Maysun Mills; his great grandchildren, Jesse Morgan and Poppy Morgan; his siblings, Dr. Michael (Tracey) Mills, Roy (Kelly) Ross, Scot (Lori) Ross, and Cathy (Jeremiah) Christian; his sister-in-law, Yvonne Mills; as well as, Shari’s children, April (Jason) Evans, Andrea (Tom) Winn, Amber Bonomo, Eric Hutson, Katie (Daniel) Weathers; Shari’s grandchildren, Bailey (Robby), Daniel, Conor, Addie, Elizabeth, Reece, Lillian, Lilah, Jude, Wren, Jonah, and Calvin. Terry was part of a large family and had many people who loved him and will miss him.

Terry graduated from Georgetown High School and attended SIU at Carbondale. He began his career at Chuckles in Danville and later began his long years of service with AutoZone in Danville, then Louisiana, and finishing in Texas. He had a strong work ethic and worked for many years until his retirement. He returned to the Georgetown area to be closer to family. He then began working part-time for Sunset Funeral Homes, where he greeted everyone with his friendliness and support. He loved his family and was always available to help anyone he could. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Forest Park Cemetery, Georgetown, IL. Pastors Joe and Mindy White will officiate. Sunset Funeral Home, Georgetown, was in charge of arrangements with funeral director and his good friend, Jeremy Hall, assisting with his final wishes.
