Terry Lee Tibbett

Terry Lee Tibbett, 76, of Covington, IN passed away peacefully on January 9, 2019 at the Waters of Covington.

He was born in Benton Harbor, MI on April 8, 1942, the son of Roy Junior and Roberta Nadine (Crowder) Tibbett. Terry was raised by Cherrel Bernice Tibbett. He was married to Patricia Joanne Clarkston on March 13, 1960 in Cates, IN and she still survives.

Terry will be deeply missed by his wife, Patricia, children, Thomas (Holly) Tibbett of Lafayette, IN, Peggy Munro of Waynetown, IN, brother, Jerry (Gwen) Tibbett, sisters; Jessie Aubrey, Loretta Wooster, Cherrel Barnett, Kathie Jewett and Sharon Clark, grandchildren; Nicole, Adam, Chelsea, Michael, Daytona and Dylan, great grandchildren; Gage, James, Braxton, Bristol, Sailor and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Michael Tibbett.

Terry graduated from Kingman High School in 1961. He went on to work at Reith-Riley from 1960-61, Barkman Chevrolet from 1962-1965 and then retiring from General Motors in 1998 after 33 years. Terry was a member of Masonic Lodge #314 in Kingman, IN, Fountain Eastern Star #204 and the Terre Haute Scottish Rite. Terry was a perfectionist at fixing anything and everything. If he couldnt fix it, it couldnt be fixed. He enjoyed helping out friends and family fix anything they needed for a small price, just a cup of coffee. Terry enjoyed showing off the magic tricks he learned and was a collector of anything magic. He also enjoyed working in the yard, watching the birds and old western movies. He will be very missed.

A celebration of Terrys life will be held at 1:00 PM EST on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Sunsets Covington Chapel 420 3rd Street Covington, IN 47932 with Pastor Mike Hohenstien officiating. Visitation will be from 2-5 PM EST on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the funeral home with Masonic Rites at 5:00 PM. He will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington.
