Terry Lee Johnson, 43, of Chicago, IL, formerly of Ridge Farm, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at St. James Hospital, Chicago Heights, IL. He was born on November 5, 1968, in Danville, IL, the son of William H. and Ruth (Kyger) Johnson. Terry loved to go shopping, as well as, liked to eat pizza & have soda pop. He liked to write letters and be around little babies. He loved being with his family most of all. Terry attended I.S.D., a school for the deaf, in Jacksonville, IL, and also graduated from The Center on Deafness in Chicago. He enjoyed being a member of the Deaf Choir at the Catlin Church of Christ. Terry will be missed by: his mother, Ruth Johnson of Ridge Farm; his brother, Troy (Kelly) Johnson of Camp Point, IL; his sister, Tammie Johnson of Ridge Farm; his grandfather, Cloyd Kyger; his nieces & nephews, Brittni (Brandon) O'Hair, Amanda Young, Christopher Young, Ryan Steinsdoerfer, & Brock Johnson; his great-nephew, Keagen O'Hair; his several Aunts & Uncles; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by: his father, William Hughie' Johnson; his maternal grandmother, Virginia Kyger; and his paternal grandparents, Carl & Bernadette Johnson. A celebration of Terry's life will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Chapel, 200 E West St, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be 11:00am to 1:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Vermilion Grove Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to Terry's family to help with expenses.
