DANVILLE - Terry Harold Anderson, 59, of Danville passed peacefully in his sleep after a courageous battle with cancer, at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center. Although the past year has been a great struggle, he is now at peace and no longer in pain. He is welcomed at the Pearly Gates by his father, Clarence as well as one of his dearest friends, Fred Halls and his dog, Scout. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him, and all those who had a chance to meet Terry in his sort life on this Earth. He was born September 28, 1955 to Clarence and Nettie Anderson of Worthington, Minnesota. His father preceded him in death. Terry grew up in Worthington and Bigelow Minnesota. He graduated from Worthington Sr. High School in 1973. After graduating he joined the Navy in 1974 and was stationed on the USS Sumter 1181. He was honorably discharged on March 13, 1978. After being discharge form the Navy he was employed at the Nobles County Jail until 1990. He then moved to Danville Illinois and was employed with Bill Smith Auto Parts for 18 years. While in Minnesota he married Patsy and had two daughters, Rachel and Becca. He also acquired a bonus child, Ruth Ann of Iowa. They survive. He then married Becky Garretson of Danville, and they share two daughters, Klarissa and Kalynn. With this marriage he acquired three more bonus children; Katie (Greg) Ashby and Kimmy (Tony) Clippinger of Georgetown, as well as Jimmy Garretson of Billings, Montana. Kurtis, Keenan, Sophia, Ivan, Christopher, Bordy, Olivia and Allison will greatly miss their Papa, but will always have their memories of him. He enjoyed hearing about softball, boy scouts, football, band performances and plays that his grandchildren attended. He will be sadly missed by his family and many grandchildren. Terry was a lover of life. On Thanksgiving you would find him eating turkey hours before dinner was to be served. But somehow, he always had room for 2, maybe 3 more plates full of food. Some would say he had a hollow leg. Also, man did he love Beckys fried chicken. This was often his request for dinner. Not a Sunday went by that you wouldnt find him napping in his recliner with 2 dogs on each side of him, one at his feet and one cuddled up next to his chest. When holidays and his birthday rolled around, it was a race to find him the funniest shirt that he would proudly wear. He was extremely proud of his daughters and all they accomplished in his time on earth. He was always happy to see the artwork Kalynn created and he never turned down a pizza burger when Klarissa would bring them home. He watched as they grew into beautiful young women who are going to go far and do great things. They will miss their father tremendously. Not many people can say that they loved their job, but Terry did. He loved what he did and you never heard him complain about work. He would come home singing the songs his young coworkers had going on the radio. You would often hear him singing “2 turn tables and a microphone” or “Who Let the Dogs Out.” The dogs knew when he was coming home. Scout, Bobo, Mack, Oscar and Duchess always greeted him at the door with wagging tales and happy barks. Terry leaves behind a carefree spirit. He was a man that rolled with the punches, mad a joke when it was needed and fought a battle that many have fought. He is at peace now. He will be missed by his mother, Nettie Anderson of Tracy, Minnesota; his sister, Shauna Anderson of Tracy, Minnesota; and two brothers, Harry (Rebecca) Anderson of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Ron Anderson of Hastings, Nebraska.
