Terry G. Eaglen

Danville – Terry Gene Eaglen, 82, of Danville, passed away at 9:37 AM on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at his home. He was born on December 13, 1943, in Danville to Carroll H. and Jesse Vesta (Schnelle) Eaglen. He married Mary “Cindy” Smith on July 2, 1978, in Champaign, IL. She survives.

He is also survived by two daughters, Shelly (Mike) FitzGerald of Tolono and Cindi (John) Long of Danville; five grandchildren, Courtney Eaglen, Zach (Maddie) Raimer, Jarrod Raimer, Jamie-Lynn FitzGerald, and Riley FitzGerald; two step-grandchildren, Jessica Long, Jeanell Long; five great grandchildren, Liam Blom, Nolan Blom, Stetson Raimer, Fletcher Raimer, Wrenley Raimer; and an “adopted son,” Lance Turner.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Terry attended Bismarck Schools until his talent for playing the clarinet resulted in his transfer to Danville High School for additional opportunities with their music program. He was the owner/operator of Disposal Waste and Illini Recycling in Champaign for many years until he and Cindy sold in 2017. Terry had a love for antique cars and enjoyed collecting and showing them. His love of cars went beyond antique as Terry also loved to watch NASCAR. Terry also enjoyed the road trips he and Cindy would take as they traveled the country in their motor home.

A visitation to celebrate the life of Terry G. Eaglen will be held from 1-3 PM on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834. Pastor Charlie Jett will officiate a memorial service and interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park at a later date, following cremation.
