Terry 'Dode' Trosper

Terry N. Dode Trosper Sr. 60, of Danville, passed away at 6:18am on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Provena USMC in Danville. He was born on October 12, 1948, in Danville, the son of John W. and Betty L. (Watson) Trosper. On August 3, 1968, Terry married Maralee Tabels, in Danville. He treasured her throughout their forty-year marriage where together they set an example of love and commitment for their children. She will miss him dearly. Others survivors include his mother, Betty Trosper of Danville, his children, Terry (Pauline) Trosper Jr. of Hoopeston, his 4 daughters, Laura (Richard) Spencer of Tenn., Katie (Mark) Musgrave of Danville, Becky (Rob) Steidel of Danville, and Megan Trosper of Danville, to which his was always patient, tender, encouraging, and always had time to listen to each one of them. His thirteen grandchildren, Aubrey and Tristyn Trosper, Austin and Emma Spencer, Katelynn, Ramsey, Siera, and Macy Musgrave, Kailey Nixon, Chris Steidel, Evan Wheeler, Emily Steidel, and Ty Rangel, to which each brought tears to Terrys eyes on their births. He had a special relationship and each one brought him immeasurable joy and held a place in his heart. His five brothers, John Buck Trosper of Oklahoma, Larry B. Hill of Texas, Ronald Trosper of Tilton, Bill Kingore of Tilton, Larry Kingore of Westville, and his sister, Donna Hood of Indiana also survive Terry. His father, John Trosper precedes Terry in death. Terry graduated from Danville High School and later from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor in Business, and in 1969, enlisted into the United States Army. After the service, he later was elected to the Danville Township Highway Commissioners position, which he proudly held for 17 years, until retiring. Terry never met a stranger. His life filled with the joy and commitment his family and friends brought him. He looked for the good in people and made them feel valued in return. Terry loved to make people laugh and will be remembered dearly for his sense of humor. Terry was always bursting with pride for each of his five children. He enjoyed coaching their baseball leagues, eating their mustard filled sandwiches, and taking them camping and fishing. May all who have been touched by him find peace and comfort in this time of sorrow.
