Terry Benjaman Borgwald

Terry Benjaman Borgwald, 82, went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2025.

Terry was born on October 6, 1942 in Danville, IL the son of Wilbur and Amanda (Matthews) Borgwald. He married his “soulmate” Dorothy “Jeannie” Crippin on December 22, 1963 in Danville, IL and she survives.

Survivors include his wife, Jeannie Borgwald of Danville, IL, two daughter, Alix (Heath) Walker of Nicholasville, KY and Gwen (Ray) Knight of Danville, IL, four grandchildren, Cody Borgwald of Nicholasville, KY, Bryr Walker of Nicholasville, KY, Jake Knight of Ft Carson, CO, and Leah (Andrew) Hopner of Nicholasville, KY, two great granddaughters, Aubrey and Gracie Hopner of Nicholasville, KY, his twin brother, Larry Borgwald of Danville, IL and brother-in-law, David (Linda) Crippin of California and sister-in-law, Gwen (Terry) Mourer of Danville, IL as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marlene (Charlie) Garner.

Terry was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church, graduated from Eastern Illinois University and retired from Hyster-Yale in 2002. He was also a member of the Danville Engineers Club and assisted with the United Way of Danville, IL. Terry enjoyed spending his free time doing yard work, woodworking and photography.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Pastor Wally Holt will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post 210 Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 PM on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at the funeral home.
