Terry A. Badger Ii

Terry A. Badger II, 40, passed away in the early morning of October 2, 2024 at his home in Covington surrounded by his family. He was born on January 11, 1984 in Danville to parents Mary and Terry Badger. He attended Covington High School growing up.

Terry was a dedicated travel baseball coach, spending many weekends and evenings on a baseball field. It was a passion he shared with his son, Terry Badger III, affectionately referred to as “T3”. Coaching gave him the opportunity to share his love for baseball while instilling the values of teamwork and perseverance with the young athletes he coached. Whether on the field coaching or sitting on the bleachers cheering on his nieces and nephew, his encouragement and kindness were contagious. He also enjoyed cheering on the Cardinals, especially if they were winning.

If he wasn’t on a baseball field, he could usually be found outdoors whether it meant hunting, fishing, or mushrooming. He was never one to sit still for long and loved being able to experience his hobbies with his family and friends. He shared many of the same passions with T3, who was very much like his father. When T3 passed in 2023, it left an enormous gap in Terry’s life. However, he carried his son’s memory and love with him every single day and actively sought out ways to ensure that no other child would have to endure the same hardships.

Terry was simply just one-of-a-kind. He was a wonderful guy and always sought out ways to help others. He shared kindness freely and had a natural ability to connect with others to make them feel valued and loved. He was a devoted dad, son, brother, and uncle. He loved hard until his final breaths and will be so dearly missed.

Terry is survived by his parents; his brother Tony and wife Summer Badger, and their children Lyla, Bentley, and Charleigh “Chuck”; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In addition to his son Terry Badger III, he was preceded by both his paternal and maternal grandparents.

A visitation will be held for Terry from 4-7 pm EST on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home’s Covington Chapel, located at 420 3rd Street in Covington. A funeral service will be held the following morning at 10 am EST on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, also at the funeral home. Pastor Kurt Flora will be officiating.
