Teri L. Nelson

Danville- Teri L. (Fitzgerald) Nelson, 58, of Danville passed away on April 16, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on October 12, 1958 in Madison, IN, the daughter of Andrew Jackson and Martha Jane (Maddox) Fitzgerald. She married Michael Nelson on May 28, 1983 he still survives. Teri will be deeply missed by children, Jason Nelson of Danville and Samantha (Andrew) Gumble of Springfield, siblings; Bill (Debbie) Andrews of Madison, IN, Sandy (Arlen) Ackerman of Rantoul, IL, Mark (Sharon) Fitzgerald of Decatur, IL, Andrea (Brian) Rosnett of Hillsdale, IN and Susie (Frank) Weddle of Danville, her pride and joy grandson, Sawyer Gumble and special friend Mary Roesel. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister, Cheri (Fitzgerald) Stevenson and brother, Joe Fitzgerald. Teri graduated from Monticello High School and then Lakeview School of Nursing in Danville. She was a licensed RN at the Danville VA for 30 years specializing in Home based healthcare. She took a lot of pride in taking care of our veterans. Teri loved to scrapbook, crochet, taking family photos, shopping, and spending time with her grandson, nieces and nephews. She looked forward to every year in October going to Florida with Mary for her birthday. Her family will miss her loving zest for life. A celebration of Teri's life will be held at 5 PM on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. Visitation will be 2-5 PM prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at Springhill Cemetery in Danville. Memorials can be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
