Teresita 'Tita' Nekola

Homer- Teresita "Tita" Nekola, 67, of Homer, IL passed away at 3:51 PM on Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on March 11, 1946 in Calbayog City, Phillipines to Sebastian and Maria Elaina Dordinez. She married Ronald Lee Nekola on May 11, 1970 in San Antonio, Zambales, Phillipines. He survives. Also surviving are a son, Frederick Lee Nekola of Anna, IL; daughter Maria Elaina (Brett) Harrison of Oakwood; two brothers, Enrique Dordinez and Sanjego Dordinez; and seven grandchildren, Jade (Jason) Short, Rylan Harrison, Haven Harrison, Rhett Harrison, Rourke Harrison, Alexis Nekola, and Ariel Nekola. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister. Tita enjoyed fishing, working in her garden, playing cards, and cooking. She especially loved to spend time with her husband. A service to celebrate the life of Teresita Nekola will be held at 1 PM on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Sunset's Oakwood Chapel. Pastor Patti Wise will officiate. Burial will follow at Stearns Cemetery in Fithian. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, April 4, also at Sunset in Oakwood.
