Teresa Vandewalker

Teresa Vandewalker, 65, of Georgetown, Illinois, passed away on Monday January 27, 2025, at Cale Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. Teresa was born in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Hester) Lack on September 16, 1959. She married Gregory Vandewalker on October 15, 1992. He passed away on May 25, 2024.

Teresa leaves behind her children; Sean (Lisa) Conklin, and Tita (John) Vandewalker-Cox, grandchildren; Kara, and Grace, Olivia, and Everly, her brother Robert (Micki) Lack, Dianne Smith, and Patsy Lack.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson Thomas, and her brother-in-law Phil Smith.

Teresa was known for always helping and taking care of people. She enjoyed her time when she and her friends could go out together and do things. She was an avid reader enjoying a good book. Most of all the time she got to spend with her family was the most important to her.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday February 8, 2025, at Forest Park Cemetery in Georgetown, Illinois, at 3pm. With Pastor James Blue officiating. The family entrusted Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois with cremation rights. In lieu of flowers please donate to Vermilion County Animal Shelter in Teresa’s name.
