Teresa Cruz

Teresa Cruz, 77, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at her home in Danville surrounded by loved ones. She was born on December 24, 1944 the daughter of Rafael Casas Vasquez and Maria DeLos Angeles Regalado Vasquez in Brownsville, Texas.

Teresa is survived by her children, Norma L. Mendez, Orlando Mendez, Lori Anne (Jimye) Taylor, David Mendez Jr., Delma Mendez (Eliseo Chavira), Robert Mendez, Sandra A. Vasquez, Javier L. (Monica) Vasquez, Marisela Vasquez (Guillermo Martinez), Maria A. Vasquez, Marcelino (Wendy) Bravo, Siboney (Jason) Ayala, and Aliyah R. Pruett; siblings, Julian Vasquez, Felipa Escobedo, Francisca Reyna, and Beatrice Gonzales; as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Teresa is preceded in death by her husband, Ubaldo Cruz; and siblings, Guadalupe Vasquez, Luz Vasquez, Martina V. Casas, and Dominga Vasquez.

Teresa was a kind, generous, and hardworking mother. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren with whom she shared many memories. She loved to cook and bake. She would start in the evening and continue tirelessly through sunrise. She was passionate about gardening, crocheting, taking care of her dogs, listening to her favorite songs, and dancing. Teresa loved to travel. Her most memorable trips were to Hawaii and the Bahamas. For many years, she worked at Kags BBQ, alongside Miss Robinson with whom she held deep respect. Until the end she carried her mother in her heart and mind. Her mother was never forgotten and remained a topic of conversation. She will be dearly missed by all her children, extended family, and friends. She should be remembered every spring when the rose blooms full. When the air is light and full of love. When the garden is full of color, lets remember this strong beautiful woman that gave her all!
