Ted R. Walker

Ted R. Walker, 81, of Mahomet passed away at his home on August 12, 2023. He was born on December 19, 1941, the son of Anthony and Evelyn Walker. On July 30, 1961, Ted married the love of his life, Linda (Eddington) Walker, she survives. Ted is also survived by his daughters, Lisa Pope, Margie Raymond; grandchildren, Josh Walker, Katie Raymond, Jeanette Walker, Leandra Walker, Doris Renee Pope; 4 great-grandchildren, Skyler, Breanna, Samantha, Bubba; brother, Jerald Walker, brother in laws, Roger, Steve (Carole) Eddington, many nieces and nephews; beloved pups, Rusty, Molly, Milly and kitty, Chloe. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Evelyn, son, Michael Walker, daughter, Jennifer Walker, sister Janet Brewer and brother, Robert Walker. Ted worked for over 17 years on a farm as a hired hand. He later began working for the Mahomet-Seymour High School as a custodian before transferring to the Junior High School to become the managing custodian. In his younger years he enjoyed boating and more recently liked to spend time in his garage (AKA his mancave). Ted was a kind and loving man who will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. In honor of Teds wishes the family has called upon the care of Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center to follow through with his cremation. A Celebration of Teds life will be held at 10am on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at the Bondville United Methodist Church 100 W Chestnut Rd, Bondville, IL 61815. Memorial donations may be made in Teds name to the Bondville United Methodist Church or the Life Vineyard Church in Mahomet 702 turkey farm rd, Mahomet, IL 61853.
