Ted Ellis

Danville- Ted Ellis, 82, passed away at 12:58 a.m. on Wednesday June 26, 2013 at St. Anthony Hospital in Effingham. He was born Aug. 23, 1930 in Danville, the son of Mary Mann Ellis and Ted Ellis Sr. He married Helen Hamer who preceded him in death in 1981. Survivors include five boys, Michael (Annetta) Ellis of Germany, Steve (Shari) Ellis of Fairmount, Todd Ellis of Danville, Tim Ellis of Danville, and Kevin (Janene) Ellis of Georgetown; one sister Nancy Dunn of Hurst, Texas; 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Ted worked at KIK in Hegler as a security guard. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and playing poker with his buddies. Ted bowled his only 300 game at age of 70 and was an avid Cardinal and Illini fan. Per Ted's wishes, there will be no services. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville is in charge of arrangements.
