T. Ruth Land

Danville - T. Ruth Land was born June 30, 1952 the daughter of Floyd and Thelma Mertz McKinley. Ruth passed away June 25, 2014. She married Roy Land November 24, 1973. He passed away December 9, 2010. Surviving are her daughters; Sarah (Jeremy) Taylor, Julie Zabelka; mother, Thelma McKinley; and grandchildren, Ashley Borden, Austin Taylor, Brandon Taylor, Nathaniel Zabelka and Violet Jones. Ruth was preceded in death by her father; sister, Florence; nephew, Edwin; and niece Lee Anne. Ruth was a 1970 graduate of Bismarck High School. She worked over 36 years at the Nursing Home across from the hospital. She fought cancer for over 10 years. Family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Kendrith Rowland for his compassionate care. Ruth loved dolls and reading books. She loved finding bargains and garage sales and spending time with her grandchildren. A service to celebrate the life of Ruth will be held at 2 pm Thursday July 3, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Visitation will be held from 1-2 PM prior to the service. Pastor Tony Goss will officiate. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery in Danville. Memorials may be made to Carle Oncology Department.
