Suzanne Sloniger O'Connell

Suzanne Sloniger-OConnell passed away Friday May 23, 2014 at 10:40 p.m. at Presence Covenant Medical Center in Urbana. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Suzanne will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home, Champaign-Urbana Chapel, 710 N Neil Street in Champaign. Visitation of family and friends will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday prior to services at the funeral home. Following the service there will be a Life Celebration reception at Stone Creek Event Center, Stone Creek Blvd., Urbana. Suzanne was born February 10, 1935 in the Kansas City area and spent her early years in St. Louis and Carlinville, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Ruth Coyle of Carlinville, IL. She is survived by her two sisters, Judy Wieck of Nashville and Kathy Mason of Jacksonville, FL, and her three brothers, Michael Coyle - Jacksonville, FL, Patrick (Ginny) Coyle - Jerseyville, IL, and Matthew (Maggie) Coyle - Nashville. Suzanne is also survived by her six children, Lisa (James) Templer, Ruth (Bill) Deters, William (Rebecca) Marshall, Jennifer (Brian) Stahley, Grant (Sharon) Sloniger and Molly (Tim) McMahon; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her extended family of more treasured friends than can be counted. Suzanne was a local business woman who touched the lives of many in the Champaign - Urbana area. She was an avid lover of the arts and music and was frequently in attendance at various local area venues.
