Susie Lang

Susie G. (Spisok) Lang, 94, of Danville, passed away at 6:05am Monday June 27, 2016. Jesus came and took Susie's hand, he said he would come for her when the last jewel was placed on her mansion in heaven. Susie was born in Sidell, IL on December 13, 1921 the daughter of Clamus Todd and Clara (Donley) Todd. In 1944 Susie married John "Jimmy" Spisok and they spent the next 48 years together, he precedes her in death. She then married Norval G. Lang, he precedes her in death. Susie is survived by her three daughters, Margaret "Peggy" Romine, Mary Sue Spisok, Fran Winters; two brothers, Timothy (Carolyn) Todd, Richard "Elmo" Todd; one sister, Marjorie (Glen) Foster of Hoopeston; two grandchildren, Scott (Jamie) Winters, DeAnne Tuggle; one great step-grandson, Justin (Heather) Lewsader of Covington; and two great great grandchildren, Kendrix Lewsader and Keely Lewsader. Susie is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, three brothers, Roger (Dixie) Todd, Arthur (Alta Mae) Todd, Ted (Flo) Todd; one step-son, Bob Ellis; and one great-grandchild, Marlana "Nicki" Reed. Susie was a very loving individual; she enjoyed caring for her children and spending time bowling or playing bonko with her friends from the neighborhood. She was a faithful Christian and loved attending church and in her spare time could be found crocheting or sewing beautiful outfits for her children. Susie spent 26 years as a shearing operator at Teepak. She was a very loving and devoted friend and will be missed dearly. Susie's family would like to send a special thanks to nephew Mike (Maureen) Spisok, Charlie (Norma) Cravens, and Karen, Tonya, and Tracy from Carle Hospice for all of their love and support during this difficult time. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11Am on Friday July 1, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Officiating will be pastor Scott McCurdy. Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery fallowing the service. Visitation will be held on Thursday June 30, 2016 from 4pm to 7pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Susie's name to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
