Susanna E. Swisher, 90, of Danville, passed this life at 1:20 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2007, at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. Sue was born November 26, 1916, in Absecon, NJ, the daughter of Fred and Anna (Frank) Bruckler. She married James S. Swisher on October 30, 1954 in Elkton, MD. He survives. Sue is survived by a sister, Kay Bader of Egg Harbor, NJ; two special nieces, Elaine Hankinson of Margate, NJ and Gerry Steeb of Walnut Creek, CA, as well as several other nieces and nephews. She was blessed with many friends and the special friends among them were, Dick and Ardith Goodwin, Jack and Joann Goodner, Bill and Pearl McConnell, Lynn Simmonds, Theresa Harris, Lisa Knight and Teresa S. Schleinz. Sue retired from General Electric in Danville after 17 years. She loved to crochet and made many beautiful items, which she gave to friends as gifts. Sue traveled many years with her husband on vacations and visits. She was not a member of a church, but had given her heart to the Lord and was raised in baptism at the East Park Church of Christ. Although crippled by arthritis and bedfast, she maintained a spirit of hope and a cheerful outlook in her final years. A celebration of Susannas life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 15, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor James Blue officiating. Burial will be at Centennial Cemetery in Kingman, IN. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, January 14, 2007 at the funeral home.
